Even the first edition had a chapter on auditing on-line, real-time systems. The book offered a coherent, conceptual approach to I.T. auditing and was also an intensely practical guide to use. It found favour with both I.T,. specialists and those with little I.T. background. The second edition was strengthened by the co-authorship of John Court who was once a partner in Whinney Young and who went on to head the I.T. Audit Faculty at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales where he still is.
